WHO WE ARE
Our Roots
Girls Night Out began as a small "pay it forward" project by my boss at the American Red Cross. Taunia Oechslin, a breast cancer fighter who was diagnosed when she was 36, and succumbed to the disease on April 9, 2009 at the age of 39. It was her goal that every female be educated about breast cancer, understand the value of early detection, and receive proper treatment.

DeLeo Games, in collaboration with Pacemactic's charitable giving program, proudly supports the mission of Girls Night Out Altoona Inc., which focuses on funding breast cancer research, care services, and educational initiatives promoting mammograms and free screenings.

What an amazing day at Raystown Lake at the PA Striped Bass Association’s Annual Fish-For-A-Cure.
Jim Tucker, President of PSBA, stated there were 26 participants in this year’s tournament.
Jim’s wife Diane was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, and started this tournament in 2012 donating monies each year to help others in their fight.
Today’s tournament results: 26 people - 16 teams
Largest fish was 28.80 lbs Team Donaldson
Second place was 27.73 lbs 2 fish Doug Hughes
Angler’s Choice was Mike Amick 5.18 lbs catfish
They made a generous donation of $1,801.00 and before someone left the event they donated another $100.00 so total donation was $1,901.00.
We are so very grateful that you chose to select Girls Night Out Altoona, Inc as this year’s recipient.
